The Origins of Finnish Words – Etymological Dictionary

The dictionary was published in three volumes in 1992, 1995 and 2000 (volume 62 in the Research Institute’s publication series, volume 556 in the Finnish Literature Society’s publication series). The dictionary provides an overview of etymological research in the late 20th century, when new loan-word research challenged existing assumptions about the origins of Finnish vocabulary.
