Institute for the Languages of Finland

Journals

Together with various partners, the Research Institute publishes Hiidenkivi, a cultural journal disseminating academic findings on Finnish language, literature and history. Two of our periodicals are dedicated to language planning, Kielikello in Finnish and Språkbruk in Swedish.

Kielikello

Kielikello is a quarterly language planning journal published by our Language Planning Department. It offers guidance on language usage, publicises current guidelines, and provides updates on new recommendations. Designed as an aid to all writers, Kielikello includes popular articles on language and linguistics, offering a rich source of information to anybody interested in language. The Editor-in-Chief is Riitta Eronen and Subeditor Raija Moilanen.

Kielikello is now also available on the Internet. Kielikello on the Net provides summaries of all issues released since 1968. New issues are incorporated in the web version at regular intervals. Itemised information is readily accessible, as you can search the site via various paths, e.g. by topic, search words, author or title.
